Lori's Minute

I think we went a little overboard this Christmas with the kids.(Note my husband counts as one of the kids). Usually we keep it together but for some reason, not this year. (Instead of one big gift, there were three). The problem is with the economy the way it is, there are a lot of good deals out there and they were all things we were saving to purchase anyway.

Now we have to find a place to put all the stuff. I find myself walking into the room, looking at it and leaving, unable to make a decision. I know this is not something to complain about, I'll try to remember this feeling next year.

Today we went to Menards and purchased outside lights for the house next Christmas because they were half off. These will replace the ones the snowblower ate this year. We tried to get a train for my father-in-law but they were already gone.

Packers are in the playoffs, Badgers won the bowl game. I finally sent out my Christmas cards.

My two favorite gifts I recieved this year are the angel snow globe from my daughter and teh dolphin necklace from my son. (They also replaced my dolphin bracelet which broke last year). I am one lucky mama! All were surprises because I gave them my list too late so they could not find any of the stuff which is the way I like it.

Update

Wow, it has been awhile since I blogged. We had a nice Thanksgiving. People came, ate, I received a beautiful fruit edible bouquet which was so nice to have along with the other stuff. The Packers played that day of course.

Winter showed up yesterday dumping over a foot of snow and then it became very cold. School was out yesterday and started late today. Hopefully everything will be back to normal Friday.

Our new snowblower works so well it ate the lights on the bushes....oops! I am glad no one got hurt and the blower still works.

The latest acquisition is a flat screen tv for our bedroom...we really like it. We have been planning on getting one for a year. Pete did a great job putting it up (during the Packer game on Thanksgiving...his poor family only saw glimpses of him as he passed through looking for tools).

We also made a canopy bed for Breanna as a surprise while she was gone to Neenah to shop on black Friday with the inlaws. We made the canopy bed out of pvc pipe! We found bedding and matching curtains at Wal-mart that worked perfectly (the curtains are used on the canopy part). Luke did a great job helping his dad put it together and kept the dog occupied because he kept laying on the bedding while we were trying to work with it. I think she was really surprised and so were we because we put it together in a day without too much arguing. Whew!

Next project will be painting the master bath....after the holidays.
