Why?
Can anyone tell me why they can put a man on the moon but they cannot get the miners out of the mine? They cannot even locate them....don't they have gps signals? What is up with that?????

I don't know the answer, but the cell phones don't work there because of the location.
OC says the difference is money. The moon project has much more tremendous resources.
The difference is money. They could put special devices at every level that would communicate and have oxygen but they are expensive so they don't.
I agree with dr.john. $$$. Even when they get hefty fines for mine safety violations, they pay the fines with not thought of the miners!. How come they can't use some kind of robot?
