Family Update
We were all sick over the weekend with a tummy bug. It went through each of us and now we are on the mend. Yesterday, for the first time in 12 years, the schools were closed due to how cold it was (usually it is because of too much snow or too much wind and drifting snow). Today school was delayed two hours. It was kind of strange sitting around waiting the two hours to go to school.
My son took his valentines to school today. We cut out paper hearts which said, "A Hug from Luke" and threaded individually wrapped licorice sticks through slots in the heart.
We watched the Super Bowl but since we were all sick we were all in different places...usually we watch it all together. My favorite commercial was the one with David Letterman and Oprah. We have intercom on our phones so when we saw one we really liked, we would call each other. We are a strange family but that is why we get along so well.
BYE!

Haha...sounds like fun ( the calling each other) Hope you guys are all feeling better by now. It is bitter cold out there...our school canceled again today.
Pennie had the same tummy trouble and I have it today. I liked the Coke ads. I have only gone out to put mail in the mailbox and pick it up. Yesterday the mailman came to my door. My daughter has been on call and has gone out into the cold. Your son is bringing clever valentines.
Glad your on the mend.
Hope you are better now. Those bugs are not fun. I really wasn't too impressed with the ads.
Hi I popped over from Catch's place, you left a comment there about a dog and seperation anxiety...once a dog in a crate makes a mess they usually don't do it again, reason is they don't like to be close to it. I would try to get him to sleep or go into the crate on his own. leave it where he can get to it all the time with the door open. you may want to try putting peanut butter on a plastic lid-smear it on good and put the dog in the crate and give it the lid, dogs love peanut butter and it will keep him busy for a while lickin' good luck :)
Oh and I wanted to ask...what was the temp that made school be cancelled? we have never had schools close because of temp, bad weather yes...cold no.
I got your comment from catch :)
you said -20F wind chill -40F? and they closed the schools? OMG if the schools tried that here the kids would never be going...and I would have to go to the school and start killin.
For the last several weeks every morning I wake up to -30C -22F or colder...durning the day it warms up to around -15 to -20C 0F and there is always wind...we dress the little monsters and stick them at the end of the drive so the 'big yellow thing' can take them away. on snow days most parents take sedatives so the kids live :) -40 is the same with C and F with the wind chill in the mornings it is past that...
